A centenarian and retired nurse, Mrs. Ifeoma Gbole-Nwikina has recounted how she escaped an attempt to kidnap her.
In an exclusive interview shared by Punch, Mrs. Ifeoma said the incident took place in her residence where she is being cared for by a young girl. She said when the kidnappers stormed her house, the young girl alerted her of their presence and told her to hide.
She said she hid in her wardrobe and was unable to close the door so she left it open. So when they entered her room, they searched for her everywhere but they didn’t bother to look inside the wardrobe because the door was open.
According to Mrs. Ifeoma, one of the kidnappers was surprised that they could not find her because they knew she was in the house before they stormed in. She said another one concluded that she must have been a witch and that she flew out when they came in.
They eventually left the her house and that was how she escaped the attempt. She credited her escape to the will of God. In Mrs. Ifeoma’s words “They said they came around the day to find out if i was in or not, so they saw me and they went to the waterside to arrange a boat for my abduction.”
